They all seem so innocent don't they... The truth in the matter is that they will turn on you in a heart beat, they never get in trouble nor is ever to blame. Sisters and brothers all alike look out for only one person, themselves !
They look just so cute and dandy no one would ever know...
Not so much anymore eh ? Looks can be deceiving, remember evil !

Cellular Devices
The blackberry, i-phone, and whatever you want to call the rest... Cellphones. All of them practical and useful within reason. It starts becoming a problem when you can't leave to go anywhere without it. Especially as a teen, you get use to always having it. It becomes addictive and that can be scary... going into a technological world half blind unsure where it may lead even though there has been many insight into it. This idea is everywhere in every source of media out in the world lots of propaganda for it. They make it sound so cool and use "easy on the eyes" actors to advertise them to make everyone want the new "hot" thing. This is a thing to be feared of..
It looks so harmless doesn't it ?
Comic Books Everywhere
The classic comic book consists of a hero and a villain. Good vs. evil, where good normally triumphs over evil. This however is not always the case. The comic book sets up the viewer to believe that good always wins, sadly it doesn't, maybe in comic books however reality isn't a comic. The good fall and the evil arises not all the time, but it happens more then one would think. In ones opinion this could set the reader up for a huge disappointment in there life, expecting nothing to go wrong and make it 'big' so to say, therefore when things don't fall through they blame them self when in fact that's just reality. So next you read a comic remember it's just a fictional story! No one can fly, nor can they lift a bus into the air or shoot webs from their hands.
It's not all fun and Games
Video games are a mass sorce of media that inspire fear through the gamer. http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/games/archives/interviews/2004/08/videogames_culture_of_fear_an_interview_with_emily_newton_dunn.html is a interview with Emily Newton Dunn demenstraits this well. Often most video games have real fears incorporated into the game itself, things like the environment, surroundings and conspiracy theories all have a part in creating this 'fear'. An example of a video game that could be considered to inspire fear and is played by a world wide population is C.O.D (Call of Duty). This game is all bout the Wars (WW1, WW2 etc..) the objective of said game is to basically kill the opponent. The setting of each game is set in a real world destination (normally a war ground) and the people in the game have human qualities therefore your killing other people so to say, it all seems very real to the gamer which in reality can be scary. Children of all ages play and for what ? The thrill of the kill ? It creates the allusion that war is fun, and happenes all the time when in fact thats not the case. We do not want our youth to think that killing and war are fun this is a great fear many parents have beceause of video games and it's not just C.O.D it's all the violent, strong storyline, and psychological games that mess with the gamers mind.

Newspaper Articles
The newspaper has been around since the 1600s no one knows for sure who exactly produced the first paper therefore we cannot identify the author. Many stories and historical events have been put in the paper for the public to veiw and be aware of what is going on in the world. Newspapers can often be bias, dependeing where you are you will recive that towns personal bias or thoughts.
A Newspaper is a great sorce of news.. However it can cause some amount of fear in the reader, whether it is about the local economy (maybe crashing) or a serial killer named Albert Fish (http://images.wikia.com/criminalminds/images/e/e7/NYPD_Circular.jpg)
This type of news inspires fear in the people who read it none the less.

The Internet Experience
In todays society, we have vast resorces of information that can be accessed by almost anyone. One of the biggest sorces is the internet ! You can literally type anything in hit seach and boom ! Unlimited knowledge to the veiwer. Example, typed in ' internet culture of fear' - http://www.google.ca/#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=active&source=hp&q=internet+culture+of+fear&aq=0v&aqi=g-v2&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=edbaf2e22f3e9f9&biw=1024&bih=609 and you recive multiple web pages for culture of fear. However lets say you came back in a weeks time and did the same seach you would more then likely have many different web pages as people are constantly adding to it each and everyday.
Following this furthur since people have added and added to the internet it is full of bias information, as it is their opinion in what they put down on the web page. Now knowing this it can come to ones mind, what is true ? Is this all someones opininon ? Regardless the internet can be a useful tool but not necessarily a reliable sorce of all information. In ones own opininon this can be withiout a doubt scary an dinspire fear for sure.

Movies and Films
Many movies and films today have a specific genre they fall under, whether it is a comedy, romantic or horror, someone has taken the time and effort to produce theses pieces of art. Where the ideas come from can vary, some are just pure thoughts from the imagination and others are from real life experiences. In the 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre directed and produced by Tobe Hooper (best known for his horror genre) cowrote with Kim Henkel this film is said to be based on real life events. This is not the case, the statment is only partly true. TCM plot is entirely fictional, the character Leather face however is inspired by the real life serial killer Ed Gein who only was known to have murdered 2 victoms, other then that the rest of the film is fictional. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Texas_Chain_Saw_Massacre. The film uses many techniques to create fear, one example was saying it was based on real life events, we now know this is not the case. Other techniques used are blood and guts, by using violence the audience is forced to watch as we are drawn in by this as this is not normal in our every day lifes so we look at it as an excape. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs3981DoINw. This inspires fear in the viewers via the cultur of fear.
